Money In The Bank strategy has become quite popular with new readers knowing about it and asking questions from time to time.

October series has been a great learning curve which reaffirms the lesson that getting profit from trading is simple but not easy.

Simple because we do nothing after setting up the trades.

Not easy because it is really not easy to do nothing when faced with big MTM loss at some point.

In last 24 months, I have gone through many similar situations and except in the month of August 2021, came out successful.

That is the proof that the strategy works.

October 2021 Series:

We began on Sep 24 and the day closed with MTM loss of Rs. 674.

On next Friday, October 01, the MTM was (-) 25064.

It is not easy to do nothing and tell others also to do nothing when faced with such a situation.

People start looking for adjustments, exit or whatever else except for staying with the trades.

That decision of doing nothing brought the MTM position to (-) 7399 on Friday, October 08.

One week of doing nothing helped in recovering a good part of the loss.

This week, we had only 4 trading days, today being a market holiday.

On Monday, October 11, we saw our trades get back into the green for the first time in the series with a MTM profit of Rs. 5345.

Doing nothing over next 3 days has changed the position to:

We are now in a good position with a MTM gain of Rs. 16523.

All we had to do to get here was — keep the belief and do nothing.

A good question would be — “What would I say if the turn around did not happen?”

I would report the loss and take the loss.

No strategy can give profit every time. We have already taken profit in 18 out of 23 months. Another month of loss or profit is all the same for us.

Earlier profits or losses also came from setting up and doing nothing. Nothing was different this time.

And we do not know what the next week will do. Trades can get better from here or we may give back some of the MTM gain.

For the present, it is paradise regained.

Enjoy the long weekend and the festivities.
